Over the course of my career, including many years in sales, I noticed that some chief executive officers stood apart from the rest. The size of the company did not seem to matter; they had their act together.
The business leaders whose interviews are detailed in this book are examples of those who conduct both their personal and business lives with very high moral and ethical standards. They are uncompromising in their integrity, assume full responsibility for their actions, and strive to make the world a better place. These are people who possess true leadership qualities and skills. They are motivated by the force of doing what is right: for themselves, their families, their businesses and communities, and their country. They are guided by virtues of integrity, strong work ethics, high moral values, giving back, and helping others. They possess an intense passion to make a difference: the right kind of difference.
As the idea for this book began taking shape in my mind, I discussed the concept with a professor of business whom I knew. “Ina,” he said, “I don’t know any CEOS who are ethical.”
I was saddened and disappointed by his response but I decided to see for myself. What I found was profoundly uplifting.
The following interviews reveal an insight into the kind of people who, among others, have made the United States of America the greatest country the world has ever known. They are people who make a difference. They are people who care. |

Ethics is critical especially now with all the forlorn investors and unemployment rate. Wrong doing is not what serves us as individuals. Corporate America is not an example, it can be a travesty depending who is at the helm”. Jim Collins said it perfectly in his book Good to Great, humility + will = Level 5 leadership (the top).
In hindsight I feel very humble each CEO’s interview was so seemingly effortless. Collecting the pictures and bio’s were a bit of a challenge mostly because I failed to mention the book format while explaining the process I wanted to follow. The cooperation from the CEO’s was phenomenal including all their administrative assistants who were so kind, efficient and helpful.
Even more humbling is the information shared by successful people that came from humble beginnings, worked hard, climbed the ladder, believe in their employees, listen to their employees and stayed humble throughout their work life experience.
Some of the interviews were surprising, some insightful. One brought tears to my eyes, one was shocking and one, was once again, I left with a feeling of how awesome are humans when they stretch beyond themselves to see a bigger picture of the world. |
